THANKS FOR COMING :-)

(Pictures should pop down when you hold your mouse over the names;
if they don't, you can see the whole gang here.)

David Childs, all-around good guy and the brain behind AmericaZoo.com, passed away in December of 2002.

David was the inspiration for "Chief Ranger Dave" who heads up our kids' programs here at AmericaZoo.

My name is Lesley Fountain, and I purchased the site from David's family in 2005.  It hadn't been updated in three years, so you may find some broken links and other problems.  I'm working as fast as I can, but it's going to take some time to get everything perfect again.  I appreciate your patience.

I want to reassure you that there won't be any major changes.  My goal is to further David's dream by adding new mammals over time and one day completing the Amphibian, Bird, and Reptile sections as he had intended.

My "partner" is my ten-year-old daughter, Katie.  She's the one who dearly loved AmericaZoo.com and convinced me to hunt down the former owner (or, as it turned out, his family) when the site went offline.  It's thanks to her that we're up and running.

I'm a dedicated homeschooling mom/grandma (to Katie and also Billy, my ten-year-old grandson), and I hope to add some exciting new features as time goes by, making AmericaZoo the...

    • Most Fun
    • Most Educational
    • Most Family-Oriented
    • Most Kid-Friendly Animal Lovers' Website in all of cyberspace.

I would love your input.  Please use the following link to email-me @ americazoo.com with any ideas or suggestions you might have.

If you would like to be updated as things happen, please use the following link:  put-me-on-the-mailing-list @ americazoo.com.  Your email address will never be rented, sold, shared, or otherwise abused.

SOME SPECIFICS:

Many of the links at AmericaZoo open in a new window.  When that happens, your "BACK" button disappears.  So if your "BACK" button works, use it to return to the previous page; if it doesn't, just CLOSE (X) whatever window you're in.

This site was originally created for Internet Explorer.  I'm in the process of making it equally compatible with Netscape Navigator and Firefox, but in the meantime you'll probably notice some quirks.

A zoo isn't a zoo without the animals.  If you're on a slow connection, some pictures may take a little time to load, but they're well worth the wait.

Last but not least, I want to say THANK YOU to David's wife, Pat, and his brother, Steve, for making all this possible.

        Now...
